Milwaukee Area Universities

Velocity is the campus ministry of the Milwaukee Church of Christ in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Velocity consists of college students that have committed their lives to the service of Jesus Christ. We have students in attendance at five different universities in the Greater Milwaukee area.
Velocity is deeply committed to three primary principles of discipleship.
The first is to come to the point where we dearly love and constantly delight in the Lord our God, made ‘real’ on earth in Jesus, and to realize that there is no limitto the goodness of His intentions or His power to carry them out. The second principle is to remove the habits (that we developed in the kingdom of the world) that come against the principles of the Kingdom of God. We seek to shed the old patterns of thoughts, feelings, and actions as we fully experience the life of the ‘age to come’ in the present age.
The third principle is the call to make disciples of all people. Velocity believes that the world has been in exile from its creator as a result of sin. We wish to spread the message of Jesus Christ, that through his life and work, mankind can now be ‘set to rights’ in their relationship with their God. We actively seek and invite everyone to join us on our new Exodus as we journey out of the rule of sin, to God and the ‘age to come’.

To achieve these goals, we actively engage in two primary spiritual disciplines (although there are many others). The first of these is the discipline of study. Velocity is a ministry that is deeply committed to the study and knowledge of the Word of God. We do this as a community through various disciplines that include systematic theology and proper biblical interpretation. The second spiritual discipline, worship, is deeply related to the first. Worship imprints on our entire being the reality that we study. We believe that worship without study is dangerous and prone to zealous errors, while study without worship is dangerous and prone to lifeless orthodoxy.
