Welcome to Campus Advance at
Northern Illinois University
Campus
Advance is a group of students whose
mission it is to never stop preaching
and teaching that Jesus is both Lord
and Christ at Northern Illinois University.
Through weekly Bible Discussions, personal
Bible studies, devotionals, prayer meetings,
eating lots of food, outdoor activities,
goofing off, and fun in general, we
hope to be used by God to change lives
and make a difference. One of our goals
is to create a place that
reflects what Isaiah 32:1-8 calls a “refuge
from the storm” so that the “eyes
of those who see will no longer be closed.”
We are partners with the Downtown Chicago
Campus Ministry in trying to impact the
campuses throughout the entire Chicagoland
area.
We believe that a relationship with God
is a dramatic, exciting, and inspiring experience
that guides us on a journey to accomplish
His will. This means that we are each on
a personal quest with God as well as a shared
voyage fulfilling our role together as a
ministry.
Campus Ministry Leadership
Chris
and Meegan Zillman have served as the
Evangelist and Women’s Ministry
Leader since 2002. They have been serving
in that capacity within the DeKalb Church
of Christ since 2005. Both became Christians
in 1995 as college students, Chris at
Indiana University and Meegan at Smith
College (MA).
They’ve been married and in the
ministry since 1998, with most of that
time spent developing campus ministries
in New England. In addition to their work
in DeKalb, they oversee the progress of
the campus throughout the Chicago Church.
The Zillmans have two boys, Isaiah and
Justus, and a third on the way.
