- The New Testament and the People of God
by N.T Wright
"The New Testament and the People of God" is an excellent first
volume in what will no doubt be Wright's magnum opus: "Christian Origins and the Question of God ." This first volume sees Wright laying out the principles he uses while doing his work, discussing the history of much of the work that was done preceding him, and examining the world Jesus was born into. If you are interested in our church history and getting a better grasp on what the major thinkers on this subject are saying/have said, then this is the book for you.
- Jesus and the Victory of God
by N.T Wright
I really liked this book and valued its argument. I think Wright procedes along the correct line of interpretation to view Jesus as eschatological(in a future sense, though not simplistically so) and I think he argues correctly for a Jesus who saw himself connected both to the Jewish God and to Israel. I also think that Jesus fits into the paradigm of "leadership prophet" and I think that he had a distintive "prophetic consciousness". An outstanding second volume to his "Christian Origins and the Question of God ."
- The Resurrection of the Son of God
by N.T Wright
With this 800 page volume, N. T. Wright has now written the
definitive work on the resurrection of Jesus. From this point on, scholars will be arguing with, for, or against Wright. All discussion must now start with this book and Wright's discussion of the biblical accounts of the resurrection of Jesus. In breadth and depth of scholarship, *Resurrection of the Son of God* can only be compared to Raymond Brown's *Death of the Messiah*.
