Welcome to the
University of Illinois
The University
of Illinois’ campus ministry is
a growing ministry filled with undergraduate
and graduate students. We are a diverse
group, with about half men and half
women (works out well for dates)! Our
mission is to help one another take
our next steps toward Christ. We do
this by fostering relationships through
plenty of fun and spiritual activities.
We also like to put on upbeat, innovative
worship services.
We even have
a once-a-month all-campus evening service,
called Ignite. We like to spend our Fridays
rotating between service-projects, fun nights,
and devotionals. We even provide off nights
so people can spend time with family or
other members of the church. Our Wednesdays
are spent usually in small groups on campus.
Other than that, we just love hanging out
together. There is never a shortage of card
games or sporting events, any day of the
week. If you like tailgating, traveling,
going to parties, playing sports and watching
them, then this is the campus ministry to
check out! But don’t worry parents;
we also emphasize doing excellent work in
school.
As far as the University of Illinois, you
are not going to find such great tradition
of academics and sports as you do in the
Big Ten. Illinois offers some of the best
programs in the country. Our schools of
business, engineering and special education
are world-renowned, all top 5 within the
U.S. Although, any program at U of I is
a good one. If you want a smaller school
atmosphere there are students at Parkland
collage in Champaign or at Eastern Illinois
University.
